About Michael

I was born in Burbank, California, the heart of the American movie industry. My parents brought me up in a world filled with art and culture, and I discovered my passion for music at age 9 singing Queen with my band at a school talent show. As a teen I picked up trumpet and guitar, and using these instruments I dove headfirst into the study of Classical, Jazz, Rock, and Funk music. Performing with my high school's most advanced Symphonic and Jazz ensembles, as well as the Indiana State Honor Band, helped prepare me for the next chapter in my music education. After receiving a full-ride scholarship to the prestigious Berklee Five Week summer intensive, my application to Berklee College of Music was accepted with a World Tour scholarship. While at Berklee, I...

  • Received a Thrive Scholarship for outstanding academic achievement,

  • Scored multiple student films, collaborating with students from multiple schools in the Boston area,

  • Helped found Reverie, a professional Rock ensemble that plays original music in the style of the 70s and 80s, and

  • Studied under such greats in the industry as John Aldrich, Tim Huling, Peter Bufano, Tomo Fujita, Cecil Alexander, Lyle Brewer, Marty Walsh, and more.

In the summer of 2024 I interned at Arbury Ward Studios, run by the brilliant composer Christopher Willis (Micky Mouse, Veep). My time culminated in me providing orchestrations and recorded instrument parts for Disney's hit TV show Ariel.
